Extracurricular Activities:

JBFC constantly strives to provide its girls with a variety of extra-curricular activities so that all of our children can find an outlet to express themselves, build self-esteem, and learn the skills of leadership.

  • Student Government
Our student leaders are responsible for overseeing all chores, soda days, big celebrations, and many other items and events. Every year, a new president, secretary, treasurer, and activity chair are elected to these extremely prized positions.

  • Student Yearbook
Thanks to the generosity of one of JBFC's supporters, we were able to acquire 3 digital cameras and a photo printer this past year, and have since taught all of our girls to use the equipment. However, a select artistic bunch have been elected by the rest of the girls to be the year-round photographers and the ones responsible for putting a year-end album together, capturing all aspects of JBFC Life.

  • JBFC Newspaper

  • Student Newspaper "The Janada"
The student newspaper, aka "The Janada," is beginning to roll out its first issue, and the valuable skill of writing, as well as using a computer is being learned by all newspaper staff. We hope that this will help the students perfect their written skills, as well as give them great self-confidence by learning to interview community members, JBFC staff, and other girls for various articles and features in the newspaper.

  • Football Club

  • JBFC Football Club (JBFCFC)
JBFC has recently started an official soccer team along with an all new league for girls-only. It is the first of its kind in the region, and it is meant to show the girls that they have the right to compete and participate in anything boys can. It also provides an outlet for healthy competition. On tournament days, the 6 schools which make up the league come together for a morning and afternoon of fun, with a large lunch in between. It is a great way to build camaraderie, and help all of the girls build new friendships across different villages.
